Architected to work with Elasticsearch, Kibana gives shape to any kind of data — structured and unstructured — indexed into Elasticsearch.
The installer installs nginx along with Kibana and pre-configures an nginx proxy to ensure appropriate security for your Kibana instance. It also installs ElasticSearch.
The kibana instance is behind an nginx proxy. As soon as the installer is done you can browse over to the server's IP and enter your nginx proxy credentials(you can select username and password before installing) to view your kibana installation.
Elastic and Kibana are notorius for their unsecured operation. In order to overcome the security limitations there are two popular options. - Use the Shield plug-in (paid) - Use a proxy server We have picked the second option for you.
For additional notes on security please review. - Using Kibana with Shield https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/shield/current/kibana.html
If you are interested in Kibana you probably also want to take a look at the ELK Stack ( ElasticSearch, Logstash, Kibana). You can also find a Logstash installer in the DISTRIBOOTED App Store.
