Understanding the DISTRIBOOTED App Store and Credits

You pay for application installation from the DISTRIBOOTED App Store with credits. The amount of credits required to install an application is shown on its info page.

Welcome Voucher

When your account is first created, you receive $100 in credits which can be used to install applications.

Topping up your account

You can top up your account by clicking on your profile and selecting Top Up.

Are app installations refundable?

We do not offer refunds for app deployments. However, if you think there is a problem with an app you have deployed, please get in touch with us via our Contact Form or send us a message on info@distribooted.com and we will do our best to assist you. The Contact Form is reachable on any page by clicking the 'Click Here For Help' button on the bottom right side of the screen.

Does pricing include hosting?

The credits charged by DISTRIBOOTED are only for the deployment of an app on one or several instances. You are responsible for the cost of the instances launched by DISTRIBOOTED with your Cloud Provider.

App Configuration & Management

Accessing your instances

You can access your instances via SSH. SSH keys are located in your Dashboard, by pressing the Key icon. The SSH key is the same for all instances within a given cluster.

Starting / Stopping an instance

You are able to stop and restart any of your instances via the controls in your Dashboard.

Default app passwords

You can view the default password for an app on the configuration page, prior to installation. You are also able to specify a custom password there. If you haven’t specified a custom password, the default password for an app can be found on its Info Page.

Finding an app version

The version number is always indicated on the App Page in the DISTRIBOOTED App Store.

Updating to a newer version of an app

If a newer version of your app is available on the DISTRIBOOTED App Store, you will be able to install it on a new instance. If you want to update an existing install, you will have to access the instance and update it manually.

Installing an older version of an app

Only one version of each app can be installed from the DISTRIBOOTED App Store.

Modifying or deleting instances or clusters via DISTRIBOOTED?

In order to make changes to one, or several, of your instances, you will need to access your Cloud Provider’s management interface and make your changes from there.

Finding your Cloud Provider keys

Exoscale

After you have logged in to your account:

  1. Go to Account
  2. Select the API keys tab
  3. Get your API Key and Secret Key

Linode

Linode doesn’t allow you to retrieve a previously created API Key. Here is how to create a new one.

After you have logged in to your account:

  1. Click on my profile
  2. Select the API keys tab
  3. Enter the API Key label
  4. Click Create API Key
  5. Get your API Key

Vultr

After you have logged in to your account:

  1. Go to Account
  2. Select the API keys tab
  3. Copy your API key or Click the + button to create a new one

For DISTRIBOOTED to work with Vultr, you will also need to click the Allow all IPv4 button further down the page.

DigitalOcean

DigitalOcean doesn’t allow you to retrieve a previously created API Key. Here is how to create a new one.

After you have logged in to your account:

  1. Click on API
  2. Click on Generate New Token
  3. Get your API Key

AWS

AWS doesn’t allow you to retrieve the Secret Key for an existing Access Key. Here is how to create a new one.

After you’ve logged in to the Security Credentials section of your account:

  1. Expand the Access Keys line
  2. Click Create New Access Key
  3. Get your Access Key ID and Secret Access Key
